OUR HISTORY

Community Ministries Church was started when two Churches of the same heart and vision, Abundant Life Church and Zoe Church, joined hands in 1999 to serve the Muldersdrift, Gauteng region of South Africa. The Church was planted with a deep desire to build strong Christian communities. Muldersdrift’s diversity and melting pot of cultures was screaming for a Church that would be real, authentic, bold and loving enough to inspire people to follow Jesus, and brave enough to raise up and release new, creative disciples and leaders to transform this community for Christ.

We have aimed to strip away the man-made traditions, customs, practices, expressions, and attitudes that have inadvertently built walls between the Church and Real people seeking a Real life relationship with a Real God. We believe in developing and releasing innovative, kingdom-focused disciples who convey the Gospel through their personal relationships and in their varied workplaces, schools and neighborhoods.

Over a period of years our facilities in Muldersdrift were adapted and enhanced to meet the needs of a growing group of Christ Followers. Since 1999, our community has truly felt the love and impact of this Church. At Community Ministries Church we believe we are God’s beloved. He demonstrated this by freely giving up heaven’s best, His only Son Jesus Christ, for you and me. When we catch a revelation of this truth, we are transformed by His grace from the inside out. That’s the beauty of believing and living in our heavenly Father’s love and grace! No matter who you are or where you come from, there’s always a place for you in our church family!

OUR VISION, VALUES AND BELIEFS

OUR VISION

Community Ministries Church is a Movement Connecting people and Transforming Community.

OUR VALUES

Core values can be thought of as the characteristics that shape our church’s culture.

These are the values that will be talked about often among our team and Community Ministries Church family.

JESUS CENTERED

We will keep the main thing, the main thing.
The gospel and all of Christian faith revolves around Jesus. We will reinforce this through our lives, worship and teaching.

icon05-free-img

PEOPLE MATTER

Every person matters to God. Everyone needs love and needs to be valued because we all matter to God. In everything we do, we seek to glorify God and edify man.

CONNECTION

We will help connect people to God’s vision for life. God has strategically placed us in Muldersdrift and our role is to connect people to Jesus, His Church, and to His purpose for their lives.

icon05-free-img

HONOUR

We treat each other with respect and integrity. We honour and submit to our leaders as unto the Lord.

REALITY & RELEVANCE

We are who we are. We won't pretend to be something we're not. We seek to excel in all that we do because we have the mind and Spirit of Christ.

OUR BELIEFS

We Believe

We believe in one God, who exists in three Persons — the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is loving, holy and just.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired and accurate. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life.

We believe that sin has separated us all from God, and that only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose again. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man. This gift is effected by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and it produces works pleasing to God.

We believe that water baptism is an outward act that demonstrates a believer's identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit.

We believe that the Holy Communion is a celebration of Jesus’ death and our remembrance of Him.

We believe that God wants to transform, heal and prosper us, so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others.

We believe that we are called to preach the gospel to all nations.

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again just as He promised.

OUR TEAM

COMMUNITY MINISTRIES CHURCH LEADERSHIP

Our church is shepherded by a plurality of Elders selected from the congregation. This form of leadership in the church creates a healthy checks-and-balances of leadership direction, financial accountability, spiritual guidance, and ministry implementation.

OUR PASTORS

PASTOR CRAIG AND DR GINA ROWE

Craig and Gina were part of the original team that planted the Church of the Nations church in our valley in 1989. They have served both locally and globally in a number of areas over the years and God has used them to share and demonstrate the Good News of Gods love for all.  They are received as the father and mother in our midst. With a love for people and a passion for building the local church their ministry focuses on building the local church through reaching people with the gospel of Jesus, and developing passionate followers of Christ. Currently Pastor Craig is responsible for the oversight of Community Ministries Church and is a member of the apostolic leadership team of the Connected Cluster of Church of the Nations Family with Tony Fitzgerald and Keith Du Plessis.
